Bruce R McIntyre, Director of Golf
On behalf of the Barnstable Golf staff I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy new year! Let’s hope the weather this winter and spring treats us a little better than last year. I would like to take a moment and thank all of our Annual Pass Holders for your continued loyalty and support of the Town of Barnstable’s Golf Division. Our goal remains to provide a great golfing experience for our customers by offering outstanding course conditions and excellent customer service.
The Management team at Barnstable Golf has worked very hard over the last few years to control expenses, but despite our best efforts we find it necessary to increase Pass Holder rates for 2019. Golf Management and the Golf Committee worked cooperatively for months to develop a rate and fee structure that would allow us to maintain our high standards while covering the increased cost of doing business and making improvements to the facilities.
We are, once again, offering an early renewal incentive for those who renew by February 28. If paying by mail, postmark must be on or before 2/28. Your name will be entered into a drawing for one of three great prizes! Good Luck!!
- Annual Pass valued up to $1,070
- Annual Range Pass valued at $235
- A $100 Gift Card for use at either Golf Shop
Application renewals have been mailed out. If you have not received one please contact the Pro Shop at Hyannis GC (508-362-2606), stop by to pick one up, or download one from our website: www.barnstable.golf. While we make every effort to accurately enter your addresses and emails into our database, we still receive quite a few returned renewal applications. If your mailing or email address has changed in the last year please provide us with the updated information.
There are a lot of new and exciting things planned for Barnstable Golf in 2019. Replacement of flooring, furniture & fixtures is planned for the OBF clubhouse building. A new roof is planned for the maintenance building at Hyannis GC, and a new dump truck is being purchased to replace the current 13 year old truck. This is the only vehicle the Golf Division has for both courses. A capital submittal was made for the construction and resurfacing of the cart path trail system at Hyannis GC. We are looking at possible sources to fund this project. The golf maintenance staff plans to continue bunker work at both facilities; edging, re-shaping and replenishing sand in as many bunkers as money, time and staffing will allow. We continue to push the Hyannis Restoration project and are constantly looking for potential funding sources to complete the necessary improvements to the aged facility.
Once again, the professional staff is putting together a fun filled event schedule for your enjoyment. There are opportunities for everyone to participate in numerous leagues, outings and competitive tournaments expertly run by our Operations and Golf Professional staff.
Spring is right around the corner!
