If you are planning on a long day at the course, or even a golf tournament, it is important that you remember to pack everything that you will need to keep you sustained and comfortable throughout the day. On top of your golf equipment, apparel and accessories that you will need to come prepared with, this includes ensuring that you have packed enough drinks and food to keep you held over until you have wrapped up your game. Just like your car needs gasoline to get from “point A” to “point B,” your body needs food and drink as fuel to be able to successfully perform on the course, or just in daily life. However, it is important that you are aware of what types of snacks and drinks you are packing on the course so that you are fueling your body up, and not dragging it down. Here are some different options that you can pack:

  • Water, water and more water. Ultimately, your body is made up of mostly water, so it is important that you pack enough to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day. If you want to change up your drinks, think about packing one or two Gatorades to replenish your electrolytes. Try your best to stay away from unhealthy drinks such as soda or coffee, which will dehydrate you.

  • Mixed nuts. These are really easy to take on the go and will provide you with a great source of carbohydrates, proteins and fats!

  • Cheese sticks. Without overdoing it, you can snack on a few cheese sticks throughout the day, which are small and easy to bring along with you.

  • Popcorn. Find some healthy popcorn brands, pop it up and pack it for a day on the course! Try to stick to popcorns that are not too buttery or salty, and you will give yourself a great source of fiber.

  • Beef jerky. A golfer’s favorite, beef jerky provides a great source of protein and is a delicious snack to take on the go.
